Students are often portrayed as being lazy, indolent, or, perhaps most damningly of all: scruffy. But todays students are often more active and involved than their parents, and they demand the rewards that come with this behaviour. Valuable pieces of equipment are de rigueur in many of the UKs student halls; parents having lavished attention upon their offspring in the form of gifts, money and, increasingly, credit cards cards immediately used to go out and purchase more shiny offerings.
In fact, the operation involved in conveying a freshly minted student to the halls of their choosing can take on a military bearing as their hi-fi, decks, television, and computers are loaded into and on top of the car chosen to risk the soon-to-be-familiar route to the student halls. This, of course, is not to mention the miniaturised electronics that go hand in hand with their larger brothers: the mp3 player and omnipresent mobile phone (fortunately these are, now, becoming one and the same) all are essential student equipment.
It doesnt stop at electrical goods either, as expensive clothing hits higher on the priority list of our average student todays student is, after all, on display for their sartorial elegance as much as for their intellectual prowess.
All of which begs the question: What if it all justdisappears?
Theft, as it always has, runs rife throughout the UK a recent survey by the Home Office (http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk ) shows that there has been a 4% rise in robbery in April to June 2005 compared to the same period a year earlier, while UK crime figures have increased generally for the first time in six years. Apart from the figures, student insurance has become more of a priority as UK consumer society tightens its grip on another generation of students.
The task of insurance, however, usually falls to the parent. This has not gone unnoticed by the UK banking industry and, aside from the traditional insurance providers, the high street banks plus their myriad financial solution offshoots (see Barclays – http://www.barclays.co.uk for an example of the sheer range of products available), there are a growing number of new competitors to the insurance market. The icing on the cake is that even from within individual insurance services there are usually a number of differing insurance packages to choose from. Making the right choice from so many insurance packages can ease the financial burden of insuring your child through their student years.
Its often a good idea to use an insurance provider databases service like Moneynet (http://www.moneynet.co.uk ) to check on the current rates and insurance packages available, if only because services such as these are constantly updated with the latest insurance or, indeed, banking, information. However, the next stage comes down to personal choice: do you want to extend your home insurance to cover student possessions away from home? Or perhaps you want a separate service from a provider catering specifically to the student insurance sector? Or, and this might be just a touch too far, do you want a service that your new student can monitor themselves, thus learning the importance of financial considerations to modern lifestyles?
Well, its risky, but the choice is yours.

An unknown student once wrote on his desk, You can’t face your problem if your problem is your face. Though intended only for humor, this curious statement may mean a lot to those who are bothered by imperfections on their faces especially their skin. Often, people complain about having pimples, wrinkles or blemishes and are baffled with what to do about it. Advertisements seen on television, newspapers, posters and billboards show various products claiming to be the miracle solution for all skin problems. People who model these products highly entice the ordinary buyer to believe in their statements. It is not safe, however, just to follow blindly. When it comes to skin problems and treatments, it is best to understand the underlying causes or processes that are involved and how it is related in one’s situation.

Great men are born once in a while. Men are great not because they are born with some attribute of greatness but their deeds make them great and remarkable individuals in history. Such people thus are not born overnight it takes ones whole lifetime to achieve that success and fame that one only dreamt of. The article throws light on some of the great men who brought revolution in the business world. Their achievements not just brought tremendous credit to their name but are largely beneficial to the multitude.
The Tobacco Industrialist Washington Duke (1820-1905)- the personal life of this farmer from North Carolina was a sad story for both his wife and son died of the same disease. Adding to the disaster, his cotton crop too failed at the same time. Btu Duke did not let this stop himself from proceeding in life. His life was full of struggle he even became a prisoner of war during the Civil War. Finally the big break that changed his entire life came when he manufactured the popular product tobacco. The Union Army that was staying in the North Carolina had a great liking for tobacco. Dukes manufactured tobacco which came to be known as Pro Bono Publico was a brilliant sensation that won the heart of all the tobacco lovers very soon. Later Duke also manufactures cigarettes under the name of his company W. Duke, Sons and Company which too was a big hit.
The inventor of the reaper Cyrus McCormick (1809-1884) has his own place in the B-world. McCormick was the son of a blacksmith who had influenced and helped the people of Shenandoah Valley with his exuberant skill in making agricultural devices. The father made the reaping machine that the son modified extremely and took it to places. The McCormicks designed inventor was a huge success at his birth place and even when he went abroad. McCormick went to Chicago in 1847 where he opened a factory named the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company. The factory scaled new heights despite massive competition. McCormicks device that he had invented and built drastically shrunk the labor and time required to produce grain. Where in 1830 it used to take 20 hours to harvest an acre of wheat, it took just one hour to do so in 1895all thanks to the great mind behind it- McCormick.
The industrialist Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919) needs no introduction in the business market. He was a man who had strived hard against poverty during his childhood. He worked as a bobbin boy and as a telegrapher and also as a superintendent for the Pennsylvania Railroad. His petite savings that hye invested in oil, iron and steel during the Civil War fetched him a turning point in his life. in 1880 Carnegie had brought a lot of companies under the Carnegie Steel Company. By 1990 this company produced a fourth of all the steel in United States. Known to be one of the richest men of the world then, Carnegie believed that rich men act as trustees to their wealth and they must administer it in the favor of the public.
Thomas Edison (1847-1931) perhaps is unknown to none and has his own coveted place in the history. Edison was the man who had about 1100 inventions in his name that have unbeatable use in the world today and then. The man who spent few hours in school, worked as a railroad newsboy was the first to start of a publication typeset and printed on a moving train. The other inventions added to his list are an electronic vote recorder in 1868, quadruplex telegraph in 1874, phonograph, light bulb and a Dictaphone to name a few. But many of these were mere improvements on what a team or so had manufactured and at times he helped others in creating devices. For instance the Dictaphone, working motion picture system that synchronized pictures with sound and the stock ticker were prepared by others under the help and guidance of Edison. He also formed a company that later became General Electric.
Apart from these the glorious men like George Eastman, Henry Ford, Madam C.J Walker, Joseph Pulitzer and many others have made significant contributions that has greatly helped mankind every now and then

After a website is optimized for the search engines, some creative marketing can easily be done to help drive new traffic to your site. Many high traffic entertainment/humor websites use funny videos that are viewed for free by site visitors. In fact, many of these viral video clips that are sent around the world via e-mail originated from these websites.
The only down side to starting a funny videos site is the initial cost to build it, and ongoing update costs, coupled with the bandwidth these websites consume, which can cost between $100-$1000/month just for hosting on a dedicated server. This is because these funny videos websites have hundreds or even thousands of downloadable videos available, and every time one is viewed there is a sizable amount of bandwidth consumed.
So how do you take the idea from the funny videos platform and apply it to your own website? Webmasters can easily incorporate this creative marketing technique into their own eCommerce websites.
Think about it this way. Most eCommerce websites have one primary function: To sell a product. The key to success with an eCommerce website is to rank high in the search engines and be found by someone looking for a product. Often times when a customer visits an eCommerce site, he or she sees the same basic format. There is a nice looking home page with an overview of the company and product line, and some pictures of featured products. Then the customer can find links to other product pages as well, or do a search for a product by keyword.
But to get the customer to come back to your website and buy more products, there must be something that sets you apart from your competition. How can this be done? There are two effective methods to achieve this. In a nutshell, adding video media will bring a whole new dimension to your website to help drive new traffic and gain repeat visitors.
In the case of an entertainment website, the funny videos are the catalyst that drives the repeat traffic to the website. In the case of an eCommerce website, you can add videos to your pages that blend with the theme of a particular product.
For example, if you sell fishing gear, then you can add the funny video of the reporter in Mexico who was floating down the river, only to be repeatedly pummeled by hundreds of fish that were jumping at his spotlight into the boat. That should get a laugh from your customer, and give them something to feel good about while they are looking at your product inventory. It’s kind of like a bakery. When you walk into a bakery, you are almost always enticed to buy something. It makes you feel good. Well on the internet, you unfortunately don’t have the option of smelling what you see. But adding funny media can arouse other senses in a customer and make their shopping experience more enjoyable.
Another great way to help market your product is by creating ‘how to’ videos for your products. For example, if you sell products for sailboats, you can make a series of short ‘knot-tying’ videos, and feature a different type of video on each product page. This can be done easily with a digital camera that records video clips.
Here is how you can accomplish this:
1.First, set up an area where you camera is on a tripod or table.
2.Next, make sure you have a good backdrop for the video clips. You want to use an area that makes the action in the video stand out.
3.Then record the video. In the case of knot-tying, you can write a script before hand and narrate the video as you are tying each knot for the camera.
4.Then download your video clip to your computer. You can also modify the size of your video with any video editing shareware tool.
5.Simply upload the video clip to your website and link to it with a descriptive title. That is it.
One idea to make this effective is add one knot-tying clip to each product page. This will not only make the customer want to visit each page, but it keeps them interested in your website.
There is one more important point to consider. You must present the training clips so they are most effective. To do this, be sure and place them in a prominent area on each page so they can be seen. And add several lines of text under the video link with a description of the video and keywords that someone might find while searching. For example you can tag the video link with ‘Instructional Video On How To Tie An Angler’s Knot’.
Then lastly, you can create a separate webpage with a ‘video directory’ of all your videos. You want to also have search engine friendly keywords on this page as well. Then add a link to your directory page from your other pages, especially your index page.
These tips will help your website stand out from the competition. Simply by adding a few funny videos to your site, or some informative training videos that you can easily create from your home or office, you have added a creative marketing edge that goes beyond optimization.

Magnesium is the lightest structural material offering very good damping characteristics, weldability and excellent shielding against electro-magnetic interferance, and is unlimited in supply. It has been an excellent material for making portable electronic and telecommunication devices, and automotive and aerospace equipment such as MD player casings, chassis for cell phones, video cameras and notebook computers, automotive gear housings, car wheels and engine blocks.
The most common methods to produce magnesium parts are die casting and thixomolding processes. However, these runner and gating processes provide a low material yield of only 30% for thin-wall casting and can only produce thin walls of between 0.7mm to 1.2mm.
If we can form magnesium parts from sheet metal just like metal stamping of steel and aluminum parts, we can achieve better material yield of about 80% and possibly safer operation due to the lower processing temperature. However, magnesium is known to be non-formable as it is very resistant to deformation due to its hexagonal close-packed structure. The only way is warm forming of magnesium as deformation of magnesium above 225 degrees Celsius will cause additional slip planes to become operative.
Extensive process research in this area have resulted in a few warm forming hydraulic presses available in the market for draw forming. Recently, research in warm draw forming of magnesium to make cell phone chassis has successfully shown that 0.4mm thin walls can be achieved consistently. Metallographic tests of the chassis have also demonstrated that there is zero porosity and increased rigidity.
While the current warm forming press systems are complicated to operate as they require the preliminary building of stroke and force profiles for the specific products using data acquisition modules and forming simulation softwares, the increased replacement of aluminum and plastics with magnesium for handheld electronic devices may well accelerate this process. Progressive early adopters of this technology would have a first mover advantage in the competitive global manufacturing industry.

She also has a craving for things which are far away and foreign or for things she has never experienced before. Angelina Jolie wants to completely immerse herself in the feelings and tastes of a new place, rather than simply have facts or an intellectual appreciation. Emotionally, too, Angelina is restless and something of a wanderer.

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to be barefoot. There is no pair of shoes or sandles that make me and my feet as happy as going barefoot. I think it is the most natural way to be, and so I look for every possible opportunity I can to go barefoot.
I think my love for being barefoot started because I grew up on a lake. From the first sign of summer until practically the first snow my siblings and I were down on our beach with no sign of shoes or sandles. We would run and play for hours barefoot in our sand and in the water. I remember hating it when school started up each year because I knew that I needed to wear shoes to school each day. I also knew, however, that if I was careful, I could slide my shoes off once I was seated at my desk during the day.
If you come to my house today, you will rarely if ever see my feet covered. I just love to be barefoot. Even in the middle of the cold of winter you will not see me walking with socks or slippers in the house. I will be barefoot even if I am freezing cold. I love the freedom of being barefoot, and quite honestly, I love the way that having bare feet regulates my body temperature and keeps me from being too hot.
I’m so thankful that I choose writing for a profession, because whether I am writing at home or at the office I can always write barefoot. My co-workers laugh at me when they come to my office and see that whatever shoes I wore into work are sitting right by my office door. I guess to many people being barefoot sounds unnatural and uncomfortable, but to me, there is no better way to be.
For all of you skeptics out there, I’ll encourage you to take every opportunity you have in the next days and weeks to go barefoot. With summer coming upon us, you should have no lack of opportunity. In fact, this is the best time of year to do this experiment. Wearing sandles rather than shoes is a great first step toward loving being barefoot. When you wear sandles you can just slip them off your feet without the hassles of untying shoes.
I’m telling you, once you start being barefoot you will never go back. Unless, I guess, you are crazy.

When I think of Pay Per Click, I think of a marketing strategy that has two different sides – one where you pay for published ads and one where you get paid for publishing ads. Somebody is always paying for the click, whether it is you clicking on someone’s ad or another person clicking on your ad. Pay Per Click depends on how you look at who is paying.
If you use Google to search the internet then you may find that your search results include “Sponsored Links” (on the right hand side of the search results page). If you click on any of the Sponsored links, the advertiser that placed the ad you clicked must pay Google for that click. If the advertiser is you, you are the one that pays. The price that you would pay depends on how much you have bid on the keywords used to generate the ad. This marketing tactic is called Google Adwords.
In addition to the ads being displayed with the search results, Google allows owners of websites and Blogs to display the same ads as contextual ads. Contextual refers to content that relates to the subject of your web page. This system is called Google Adsense. Each time a visitor clicks on an ad Google pays the owner of the website for that click. If you have traffic going to your web site and you display the Google Adsense Ads on a page and someone clicks an ad, you make money.
Note that Google Adwords and Google Adsense compliment each other and are in fact, the inverse of each other.
Google Adwords Pay Per Click is a good way to get quick targeted traffic to your website. Because you are paying for an ad promoting your site or affiliate link, those that click your ad will be directed to your site. The efficiency of your ad (click through rate or CTR) will depend on the ad copy and the keywords. The keywords that you have in the ads that are searched for dictate when your ad is displayed. Read the article at URL http://www.theonlinebizplace.com/Make-Money-With-Adwords.html to get informed on how to make the most of a Google Adwords campaign as a tool to make money.
Google Adsense is a good way to make an “automatic” recurring income. Automatic assuming your ads are getting the clicks and generating the income you expect. Some tweaking of the ad placement, colors, etc. may be neccessary for optimization. When a Google Adsense ad on your site is clicked, both you and Google make a split percentage of the total of the bid price for the keyword that the ad was displayed and clicked for. Read the article at URL http://www.theonlinebizplace.com/Make-Money-With-Google-Adsense.html to get informed on how to make the most of having Adsense ads on your site for generating an automatic income.
Another type of ad that is gaining in popularity is the Chitika eMiniMall. Chitika eMiniMalls are advertisements that display a picture and a description of the product, the best deals where the product can be purchased and a search feature. If you want to display Google Adsense ads and Chitika ads on the same web page, Google requires specific modifications to the Chitika ads. Read the article at URL http://www.theonlinebizplace.com/Make-Money-With-Chitika-Ads.html to get all the tips you need to properly place your Chitika eMiniMall ad on your site for another great way towards an automatic income.
Both Yahoo and Microsoft are in beta right now with their own equivalent to Google Adsense. The Yahoo ad network is called Yahoo Publisher Network (YPN) and Microsoft’s network is called Adcenter. I have not tried these networks out yet, but I may find myself doing that if I find that ad clicks yield a higher amount or percentage to the web site publisher.
There are several other pay per click networks available to try as well. Some of these would be RevenuePilot, Bidclix, CBclicks, Adsclick and Bidvertiser. I am sure there are even more than this. If you are interested, search them out and see if they fit for your own website’s use.

The company that dominated dial-up Internet use is coming to grip with the future. As broadband use increases dramatically, AOL has watched subscriptions decline and advertising dollars move to Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Facing approaching irrelevance, AOL has decided to act.
AOL Reinvents
In an effort to compete, AOL is reinventing itself as an open use portal. To date, AOL has always restricted use of its portal to subscribers. No longer. AOL is beta testing a portal that makes services and content available to everyone. If all goes well, the company will launch the service this month.
AOLs Motivation
The growth of broadband use has correlated to the decline of AOL. It is estimated that as many as 20 percent of subscribers have left the service in the last three years. This loss, of course, correlates to a loss of revenues. As a publicly traded company, AOL must act or face a shareholder revolt.
Catch 22?
AOL is playing a dangerous game with the free portal. The company is risking losing more subscribers that have stuck with the company simply because they like the AOL portal. If Youve Got Mail is now free, why would anyone pay for it? AOL is soon going to provide an answer.
Further complicating matters, AOL faces an extremely difficult transformation. There is a clich If it walk like a duck, quacks like a duck and smells like a duck, its a duck. At its heart, AOL is a dial-up connection company. How likely is it that AOL will smoothly convert into Yahoo, MSN or Google? Time will tell, but one can expect AOL to learn some hard lessons in the transformation.
What It Means For E-Commerce
The AOL development has little direct impact on e-commerce. As time passes, however, the new strategy could significantly impact Google. Google currently supplies search results to AOL and places Google Adwords on the system. As subscribers decrease, you can expect AOL to develop solutions to replace Google. Much like Yahoo did, Google will eventually be booted from the AOL platform. The loss of 20 million AOL users must be causing Google some consternation.
The Internet is a dynamic, evolving platform. The AOL transformation is just another step in the process. Only time will tell if AOL can adapt in the evolutionary process.

CHAMOMILE: A Reliable Herbal Muscle Relaxant
Herbal medicine is a traditional practice of treating ailments with the use of plants and its extracts. We all know that long before the advent of medical science and technology, people in ancient times would rely on the efficacy of certain plants and its extracts in curing various ailments such as stomach pain, head ache, skin infections as well as in the treatment of wounds. The use of herbs as remedy to treat many types of diseases remains to be popular even in this new millenium where significant advances in medicine have been made alongside increased sophistication in medical technology and pharmacology.

Q: One of my key employees is giving me trouble. He has started showing up late for work and has developed a bad attitude in general. The rest of my employees are complaining since they are having to take up his slack. I’ve tried talking to him, but he doesn’t seem to listen. To make matters worse, he has become one of my best friends since I hired him five years ago, so firing him is out of the question. What can I do?
– Allen B.
A: One reason I am so qualified to dispense sage business advice every week, Allen, is that I have made just about every business blunder you can imagine. I am like the Evel Knievel of the small business world, if Evel Knievel wrote a weekly column on motorcycle safety.
One of the more unpleasant things I’ve had to do is fire a good friend who was not doing the job I hired him to do. He needed a job, I needed an employee, so I thought I would give him a shot. It turned out to be a match made in business hell. He took advantage of our friendship by showing up late for work, spending time goofing off instead of working, and making a joke out of my complaints about his behavior. Because of our friendship I defended his actions to my other employees, but after a few weeks I knew I had to show him the door. We’re still friends, but certainly not like we were before.
The blunder I made was hiring a friend in the first place. I let emotion, i.e. the desire to help my friend gain employment, get in the way of my business sense. That’s what you are doing now, Allen, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are going to have to deal with this situation soon or your entire operation may be affected by the actions of this one person.
The blunder you have made is that you have befriended an employee, which is something you should never do. I’m not saying you can’t be friendly with your employees, but you have attached a considerable amount of emotional baggage to the employer/employee relationship and the result is the situation you are faced with today.
Friends expect preferential treatment simply because they are your friends. The workplace, however, must be a level playing field for all your employees, friends or not. While employees deserve your respect (if it is earned), giving one employee preferential treatment over another is never a good idea. This is a problem experienced by many business owners and managers who allow themselves to become too close to their employees.
I understand that he has become your friend over the years and you’d rather eat rocks than fire him, but you have to consider how his behavior is impacting your business over all. What effect is he having on employee morale, on work schedules, on customer relations, on time spent fixing his mistakes, and most importantly, the bottom line?
You have two options: get him back on track or get him off the payroll, period. That may sound cold and politically incorrect, but those are your only choices. Either way, you must be his employer first and friend second. He may have personal reasons for his performance, but as his employer you are legally limited as to how much prying you can do into his home life. As his friend, however, I expect that you already have a good idea what the problem is. If you can help him return to being a productive member of the team, then do so. If not, wish him well, let him go, and move on.
Here are a few suggestions to help you establish and enforce the boundaries of the employer/employee relationship.
Define the relationship. Keep your seat, Dr. Phil, this won’t take long. The employer/employee relationship should be well-defined from the outset and the parameters understood by all parties. Some call it “defining the pecking order” or “establishing the food chain.” Whatever colorful term you use it all boils down to this: You can be their boss or you can be their buddy. You can not be both.
Don’t hire friends or relatives. This rule is certainly bendable if you are the owner of the business and you hire your children to work for you. Chances are your offspring already accept you as the ultimate authority figure and managing them in a business environment is second nature. However, even this situation could have a negative impact on your business as non-related employees often expect the boss’ son, daughter, or best buddy to work less, make more money, and be treated better than everyone else. Whether that’s true or not, nepotism and cronyism can create an underlying tension among the ranks.
Establish and adhere to company policies. It’s a good idea to have published policies concerning every aspect of your business, including employee behavior and performance expectations. By it’s very nature the employer/employee relationship is prone to favoritism. Managers can’t help but favor those employees who work harder, longer, and faster, but when it comes to adhering to company policies, there should be no preferential treatment of favored employees. Every employee should receive a copy of your published company policies and sign a form stating that they have read, understand, and agree with the same.
The Bottom Line: treat everyone the same. It does not matter if the employee is a vice president or a janitor; everyone in your company should be treated the same when it comes to adhering to published company policies and performance expectations.
While it is true that a vice president may be of more value to the company than a janitor, it is also true that a vice president who is running amok can do far more damage to your company than a janitor who lets a toilet back up every once in awhile (there’s an analogy there that I will let you figure out on your own).
It’s not personal, it’s just business. This is what the movie bad guys say to one another right before the shooting starts. “Hey, Paulie, it’s not personal. It’s just business.” BLAM! BLAM! This is the dating equivalent of saying, “It’s not you, it’s me.” These kinds of statements are not going to make anyone feel better when they are getting dumped or fired. Just ask any former employee or old girlfriend you’ve used this line on.
If you have to fire an employee – even a friend – do it by the book in a professional manner.
It won’t be easy, but you have to remove the emotion and do what’s best for your business.
Here’s to your success.

Interest rates are made out to be mysterious, but really they are not mysterious at all. Before you go into any investment property venture you must make sure that you know all you can about interest rates so that you can stay ahead of the field.
All interest rates really are is the cost of money. Think of it like any fee that you may incur in order to belong to a club or industry of some kind. Keep a keen eye out for unscrupulous lenders. Some may attempt to play games and sell you on an adjustable interest rate so they can charge higher fees.
It is a good idea to try and get a fixed interest rate. This will allow you to know what your interest rate is at all times. This is great because you will always know how much you will have to pay on the mortgage each month. A good reason for you to lock in your rate now is that rates have been declining for the past twenty or so years. You should be prepared for them to begin rising soon.
Since you dont have a crystal ball it is impossible to guess what interest rates will be like in the future years. It should be know that the rate itself should not be the most important thing you consider. Banks will always offset their costs when giving you a lower rate. If you opt for the lower rate expect for them to charge you higher fees. This should be good reason for you to comparison shop and seek out the best deal for your situation. Remember to take into consideration the fees as well as the interest rate for the length of your mortgage.
Always look for a low interest rate but remember that the lowest rate may also end up costing you more because of the fees. There is a plethora of finance companies willing to lend money for the purchase of real estate so it is easy to find alternative lenders who will provide you with a much better mortgage package.
Remember you dont have to go through the traditional banks to get your mortgage. The key is to identify a rate and associated fees which you can afford for the duration of the mortgage and then you will know that there is financial security in your venture. The internet has exploded with information on the rates and fees which companies are offering and you can chart the interest rates so you can see your best option.

In an increasingly wireless world, there are lots of places where you can connect your laptop to the internet when you are out and about. These places are called “hotspots,” and if you know where to find them, you may never want to go home again.
How To Find Public Hotspots
The first place to look for hotspots is big public institutions. Libraries are increasingly offering wireless access. And, if you’re a student, chances are that your campus is already wireless-enabled, or will be soon.
Searching Out Private Hotspots
The private sector, though, is the real growth area in wireless hotspots. Businesses are falling over themselves to provide free internet access to their customers. Cafes, hotels and airports are all starting to offer wireless access to anyone nearby. All you need to bring is a wireless ready laptop.
You may wonder how it benefits businesses to offer free wireless internet access. They are willing to pay the minimal cost in exchange for the new customers it brings in, especially in areas where internet access is hard to find. Customers see wireless access as a big added value, and they vote with their feet and wallets for places that provide it.
Tracking Down The Hotspots
Even though there are thousands of hotspots, they don’t advertise this service well. Doing an internet search for hotspots in your town could really surprise you. In a town of any size, it would be surprising if there weren’t lots of hotspots to choose from.
There are plenty of websites you can go to to find hotspots. The most comprehensive, though, is generally thought to be JiWire.com. Or you can type your zip code into Yahoo Maps and choose ‘WiFi Hotspots’ from the menu on the right of the screen.
Can’t be bothered with all this? Then just look for a Starbucks. They are everywhere, and almost all of them offer wireless internet access. Borders and Kinko’s are also good places to try. Failing that, just ask at a place of your choice.
Not All Hotspots Are Free
Some of the larger hotspot networks require a small fee to a wireless Internet Service Provider to use them. You usually buy a prepaid card where the access is offered — it’s easy and affordable. If you want to save your money, just stick to the smaller, independent places.
Get Your Own Free Hotspot Software
If you like visiting hotspots, you might be interested in an easier way to find them. Just download and install hotspot locator software on your computer. This software has a database of known hotspots that you can search at any time, whether you’re online or offline. Just type in a zip code or the name of the town, and the software will give you a list of the nearest hotspots, sorted by distance from you. Each time you make an Internet connection, the software downloads the latest hotspot list, to keep your database current. How cool is that?
This hotspot locator software is available free from hotspot provider sites. T-Mobile Hotspot, for example, at: http://www.tmobile.com/hotspot.

My creative side has been blossoming in the past few months for some reason I cannot understand. Nothing in particular brought on my desire to explore my creative capabilities, I just simply started desiring to add a little spice and variety to my days. One of my first attempts at furthering my abilities in the arts was to sign up for a introductory illustration class at a local college.
I have always wanted to try my hand at illustration and I finally decided that it was my time. It was my time to see what my hand could create. I have always been fascinated by the illustration in various books and stories, particularly in children’s stories. I love the way that illustration can bring stories alive in ways that words alone cannot. I love the way that seeing a text with an accompanied illustration can bring laughter or tears within an instant.
My illustration class started off much harder than I imagined it would. I quickly learned that illustration is both a talent and a developed skill. I learned that someone could have all the illustration talent in the world and yet be lacking in elements that can only be developed by training and refining a skill. I started the illustration class with a huge need for learning new skills and practicing them. I wanted to walk into that class and be a natural at illustration and I realized that it just wasn’t possible.
If you are interested in illustration I would suggest you sign up for a class at a local college or art school. There will be days or weeks of frustration, but if you work hard at illustration you will see great improvements in your ability. Any natural talent you have (which most people have at least some of) will increase by leaps and bounds when it is coupled with some hard work on developing illustration skills.
If you are a little intimidated about entering the world of art and illustration, don’t be. Remember that even the best illustrators of the most famous books started out in much the same place you are at. A place with nothing but a little bit of talent (perhaps) and a lot of desire to do great illustration. You cannot let the talent of others discourage or intimidate you, instead you must choose to let it inspire you on. Illustration can be a beautiful way of bringing stories to life and of getting the stories that play in your head out onto paper for the world to see.

Fish is essential in a healthy diet. They contain many healthy ingredients that are vital for the normal functions of the human body. Fish contains high levels of protein, omega 3 fatty acids, and vitamin D. In addition, fish is low in fat and may help reduce the risk of disease like childhood asthma and prostate cancer. Many studies prove that fish oils play a major role in the prevention or treatment of heart disease because of the presence of omega 3 fatty acids. These fatty acids are known to reduce blood triglycerides (main component of vegetable and animal oil), blood pressure, inflammation, and abnormal heart rhythms. Many studies also show that omega-3 fatty acids help reduce the risk of dementia, arthritis, asthma, and kidney disease.

Lasik eye surgery can be used to correct myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia. Presbyopia, which causes those of us in our late 40′s to need reading glasses is actually a loss of flexibility of the eye lens and cannot be treated with lasik corrective eye surgery.
During lasik surgery the ophthalmologist actually reshapes the cornea with the use of a laser. How much reshaping you have done to your cornea depends entirely on your particular sight problem. The FDA first approved the excimer laser for eye correction in October of 1995. Lasik was approved in 1998.
The first thing you need to do before you see the doctor is homework. Read online about lasik, write down questions for your ophthalmologist. Talk to friends and family who have had the procedure. Ask them their experiences. As with any medical procedure there are real risks involved with lasik and you must weight the risks and benefits of the procedure based on your personal desires.
Some patients seeking lasik eye correction surgery come away with a worsening of their vision. Some come away fighting constant eye dryness. Some have bouts with severe infections. Some suffer from halos and double or triple vision.
Your doctor will evaluate you on an individual basis to see if he thinks you will be helped by lasik eye surgery. Not everyone is a candidate for lasik. Women who are pregnant or nursing are not. People with autoimmune or immunodeficient diseases are not candidates. People who form keloids are not good candidates for lasik. People who suffer from cataracts cannot have lasik. Your ophthalmologist will also most likely want you to have no change in your eye glass prescription for at least a period of one year prior to lasik.
The best way to help yourself obtain the best result from lasik is to arm yourself with knowledge.

We all know the effects of data loss but exactly what is it?
Data loss – A crash in computing is a condition where a program (either an application or part of the operating system) stops performing its expected function and also stops responding to other parts of the system. Often the offending program may simply appear to freeze. If this program is a critical part of the operating system kernel the entire computer may crash (a system crash).
Having noted the definitions for data loss Ill note a few reasons why it occurs, and how to recover the data, as well as a few links to specialized sites.
1. User error – A simple mistake on behalf of an employee could lead to the loss of megabytes of critical company data. From the deletion of a critical file to the accidental deletion of database records, your customers could face large expenses and significant down time recovering the disaster created by a simple mistake.
2. Employee theft – Employees need access to sensitive data in order to perform their jobs. Your customers have to limit the information to which employees have access, ensure that terminated employees no longer have access to sensitive data, and be able to track who’s touching what, when and how.
3. Disaster – What natural disasters or unfortunate accidents might affect business? Magazines daily contain news of organizations that have faced unbelievable catastrophes. In the event that your or your customers’ organizations are hit with a fire, flood or other disaster, how will the data be protected?
One way is to have backups. Using an Iomega REV drive powered by Iomega Automatic Backup Pro software, configure a full backup to REV 35GB disks once a week. Once this backup is done, you can secure the full backup offsite. With your data now backed up in two locations, no single event will be able to damage both sets of data. This backup can be done through backing software, like Argentum Backup , which automatically detects and locates the proper paths, folders and files under any Microsoft Windows (95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP and 2003) platform. Argentum Backup does it for sure, without any mistake or occasion. Argentum Backup is designed to be suitable for both beginners and advanced users
But, the best and newest way are the online backup solutions, which help you protect your data on a regular basis (daily, weekly or monthly). One of this sites is Iomega iStorage, from one of the best backup companies. This site offers a feature-rich, highly secure online storage vault designed perfectly to meet the needs of small and medium-sized businesses. Includes administrative abilities that give you control of content shared and accessed. It creates multiple logins to the same account, giving members their own login and storage space and creates logins for guests to use with restricted access
Another site is www.backup.com, where you can find another on-line backup system, called @backup. Its main features are:
simple finding and selecting of files is made easy with our right mouse click options or with our explorer-like interface;
You dont have to remember to do a backup. @Backup remembers for you. You set your backup schedule and we do the rest;
