Two Methods Of Filing Bankruptcy
There are two ways a person can become a bankrupt. The first and more common way is to have the person file a petition to voluntarily go bankrupt. The second, and rarely used way, is for creditors to ask the Court to make an Order that a person is bankrupt. In both these cases a Bankruptcy Trustee is required to administer the bankruptcy. (see Filing Bankruptcy)
The two main types of bankruptcies available to individuals deal with different debt situations in different ways. The typical Chapter 7 debtor has few assets and considerable debts primarily associated with credit cards, store purchases, hospital bills and other dischargeable debts. Creditors are paid, if at all, from anything that the debtor currently owns that cannot be claimed as exempt. Certain debts are not dischargeable in a Chapter 7 proceeding but are dischargeable in a Chapter 13. Dischargeable means that by filing for bankruptcy you will not have to pay the debt if the court grants the discharge.
Typical Bankruptcy Filings
The typical Chapter 13 debtor files because the debtor is in arrears with rent, mortgage payments, car loan or other secured debt, because the debtor has substantial debts which cannot be discharged in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, or because the debtor has some assets which he or she wants to keep but cannot be claimed as exempt. Another reason to file a Chapter 13 is to protect someone else who may be liable for your debts, such as a co-signer or spouse. In Chapter 13, creditors are paid out of the debtor’s future earnings and a plan must be proposed to pay these creditors. In order to qualify for a Chapter 13 bankruptcy the debtor must be an individual with regular income. This regular income may consist of wages, commissions, rents, public benefits, social security, unemployment compensation, alimony, child support, pensions or other types of income which can be estimated.
Many state courts, including those in Illinois, have ruled that IRA accounts are safe from creditors in a bankruptcy. But bankruptcy professor Charles Tabb at the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign notes that assets in a Roth IRA may not be protected. A Roth IRA does not have all the characteristics of the traditional IRA, since there are no restrictions on withdrawal of contributions. So that’s still an open issue.
Deciding which type of bankruptcy to file, and what is protected are but a few of the issues that arise during a bankruptcy.
Guidelines for Filing Bankruptcy
Your bankruptcy petition must include a detailed list of your current sources of income and regular expenses as they will be after you have filed your petition. This is very important. If the judge assigned to your case decides that your budget reflects that you can repay your creditors without difficulty, the judge may dismiss your case. In a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, the amount that you will have to pay your creditors monthly is based upon the budget you supply to the court.
Blood Pressure Basics
There are no hard and fast figures which represent a normal blood pressure. And very often doctors and other experts cannot even decide between them what an ideal blood pressure range is for an adult.
However it is usually agreed that somewhere between 110/70 and 125/80 is considered to be an average blood pressure for a grown person, though someone with naturally low blood pressure may be closer to a range of 100/60
A blood pressure of 140/90 is considered to be high, though as a person gets older, this falls into the more normal range for people.
Blood doesnt circulate in an even stream around the body, but travels in a constant series of spurts. Therefore the pressure peaks in the blood vessels just after a heart beat and then ebbs until the next one. This is a continuous process.
The two blood pressure figures represent the pressures when the forces are at their peak and at their lowest ebb. The stronger the arteries are, the more they resist the force of the blood and the lower the blood pressure.
As a person gets older, and the elasticity of their arteries weakens, the figures tend to rise. However the lower figure should still be under 90 until that person at least reaches their sixties.
Many studies looking at blood pressure in both black and white people have found there is a higher prevalence of hypertension (High blood pressure) in black people than there is in white. This has led to further research in determining whether this is racially determined or just based on socioeconomic and dietary factors.
Some people suffering high blood pressure may find they just cant pinpoint a cause for their problem. They may be fit, have a very healthy lifestyle yet their blood pressure remains consistently high for no apparent reason. This is called Primary or essential high blood pressure. However if the raised blood pressure is due to an underlying medical problem, it is known as Secondary High Blood Pressure.
Nearly one in four people in the Western world have high blood pressure. Many people dont appreciate it is a dangerous condition that can lead to a heart attack kidney failure or stroke if it is left untreated. Yet there are thousands of people unaware they have high blood pressure who are walking around with a lethal time bomb ticking away inside them.

There are many types of malware, malicious software designed to disrupt the normal use of your computer. Some types of malware are simply nuisances to the one sitting behind the keyboard while others can actually harm or destroy the computer itself. Another threat posed by malware is the invasion of your privacy and it has the potential to cause you considerable personal and/or financial harm. Most types of malware get onto your computer via web browsing, instant messaging, or peer-to-peer file sharing. Malware is a self-inflicted injury. You do it to yourself by using the Internet. Many people use the following terms interchangeably but there are definite differences in the types of infections you can catch on your computer.
SPYWARE — Spyware is a program that has been downloaded, usually unbeknownst to you, because it can be piggy-backed with some other type of desired program, usually freeware or shareware. Once this spyware is secretly installed on your computer it can do such things as change computer settings, track viewed websites, collect passwords, history and private information, and can even record your keystrokes. This information is then sent back to the programs originator or to a third party. Spyware is extremely difficult to eradicate.
A particularly annoying type of spyware is called adware which generates a tremendous amount of advertising in the form of pop-up advertisements or banners scrolling across your screen. This program can actually track your activities and cause similar ads to pop up hoping to interest you in related products. It can be quite intrusive and distracting but hardly as malicious as other types of spyware.
VIRUSES — A computer virus, also rides on the coat-tails of other programs when downloaded, and can reproduce and run itself when the host program is executed. It can infect and corrupt files and sometimes causes hard drives to crash depending on its design. A virus can infect other computers through the sending of email and/or file exchanges.
WORM — A worm is a self-contained program that can replicate itself and uses a network to infect other systems on your computer. Depending on how the worm was designed, it can secretly send documents though email and even delete necessary files. Unlike a virus which causes harm to the computer and its files, a worm causes harm to other computers on the network and consumes bandwidth, thus slowing down your environment.
SPAM — Spam is electronic junk mail, usually unsolicited. It uses up tremendous amounts of network bandwidth. Spam is usually trying to sell you some product or service and is sent to generated mailing lists and newsgroups. Though it cannot cause you or your computer much harm, it is extremely annoying and time consuming to delete. It is estimated that more than 60% of all email on the internet is spam.
WHAT CAN YOU DO? — Visiting Geeks technicians strongly urge all owners to install an anti-virus software program on their computers. We also recommend at least one anti-spyware program, if not more than one. Depending on Internet usage, you should set both programs to automatically scan on a regular basis. These programs can actually find and remove unwanted infections and can also prevent their future installations. It isnt enough, however, to simply install these programs and think yourself entirely protected thereafter, because new spyware and viruses are constantly being designed. You must update your anti-spyware and anti-virus programs daily in order to pick up on these newest threats.
Though no one program can be relied on to keep your computer completely clear of sypware and viruses, there are many reputable anti-spyware and anti-virus programs available on todays market. When our customers need an anti-spyware program our technicians install Counter Spy by Sunbelt Software. For those customers with no anti-virus we will install PC-Cillin Internet Security by Trend Micro which even has the added benefit of Parental Control Features.
It is much easier to prevent your computer from being infected with these above-mentioned malware than it is to try to get rid of them, so browse the internet wisely. To clean a computer of unwanted spyware and viruses can be a costly and lengthy process. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, so the saying goes.

When starting up any business, there are certain pitfalls you need to steer clear of. That’s what this section is all about. So that you can arm yourself with the knowledge of techniques that will lead you down the path to failure. Whether that is time or money losses. Both are important!
I must add here that these things to avoid are things that I have tried myself and haven’t brought me any positive results from using them. So you should be cautious before you attempt any of these listed here.
Email Address Buying
I’m sure that you’ve seen these companies before. Some work, some don’t. A majority of them don’t. And, unless you can be sure that these email addresses they are giving you are truly double opt in(this is the process of saying “Sure! Send me information” digitally through a doubled process to be certain that those individuals in fact do want the information that’s being sent to their email addresses), and not harvested emails(emails that are randomly collected from around the internet with no idea they are being put on lists), it’s like taking a shot in the dark.
Anyone can tell a lie. But it takes a great person to tell the truth. Sad to say, there’s not a whole lot of those kinds of people doing business on the internet. But, there are still some folks out there you can trust by building a long relationship with them.
I’ll tell you this much, the best way to build your mailing list is to do this on your own. This way, you are 100% sure that the email addresses you have and the people behind them really want what you are sending out to them. I would recommend that you think twice, and then think again before purchasing any email addresses from anyone. Especially if the price is cheap.
Safelist Mailing
In a word, NO! Safelists are comprised of others trying to sell their products to each other. It doesn’t work. Most of the time, if not all the time, your email ad will go unnoticed and deleted on site. Sure, safelists can be joined for free, but remember, you get what you pay for.
So, if you’re paying nothing, expect the same in return. I have personally paid for safelist memberships and have seen an absolute lack of profit return from mailing to them. And the same is true for free safelists. It’s a process that’s been around for a while, but it simply doesn’t work and you’d do well to invest your time in a worthy joint venture give-away instead. At least you’d get something out of it!
SPAMMING
Okay, this one is pretty simple and can be summed up with just one sentence. SPAM is against the law in the U.S. If you’re caught doing it, and you will most likely get caught, you will be fined and could have your computer equipment confiscated. There’s no reason to SPAM people. It’s annoying and doesn’t do a thing for you except ruin your reputation.
Time-Wasters
These are a collection of “get rich quick schemes”. They are lurking in every corner of the internet. Don’t participate in them. Money rotator programs don’t work. Pyramid schemes don’t work. And the list could go on and on. These are serious time-wasters and will not make you rich. They’re crap. Plain and simple. The only real people benefiting from these types of programs are the ones who created the darn things! Think about it. You find this program that sounds pretty good. It only costs you a total of $5.00 to get in. Your member name is put on a list and randomly displayed to get paid for every new member that signs up. But, you only make $2.00. The program creator/operator makes the other $3.00.
And they get paid every single time a new member signs up. You however are put in a pot of countless thousands whos member names get randomly rotated. The owner is sure to get paid, you aren’t. Plus, you have to get out there and start recruiting others not even sure that you’ll get paid by doing so. See what I’m saying here? It’s only quick money for those running the program. Not you.
The “Failure” Factor
This is one of the greatest success crushers there is. And it’s all caused by negative thinking and giving up! If you don’t have a big following of personal supporters like family and friends, don’t worry about it! You won’t get anywhere positive if you let the negative comments inside your head. You’ve got to put those things on the back burner to be successful at selling products online. To heck with the nay-sayers. Are they feeding your family? Are they paying your bills? No. YOU ARE!
Every single person has the mental capacity within themselves to be a success at anything they do in life. That includes you. So what if Aunt Sally thinks you’re nuts for trying to make money online. Who cares if your brother or sister can’t get a grasp on what you’re trying to accomplish. What matters is what your goals are and what you believe you can do.
A wonderful saying to remember is: “If you can believe it, You can achieve it!”. You can do this. It’s not brain surgery.
And if your first idea is a total flop, so what?! Get back on that horse and try again. This is where many give up. Not everything you do will be the best course of action. But you will gain the necessary experience through failure so that you can succeed the next time. But you have to give “next time” a chance. Remember, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again!”. If you give yourself enough time to learn and grow your internal knowledge base, you will succeed.
“Too Good To Be True” Products Or Sellers
And finally, always remember, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Now, not everything will be a “too good to be true” product or service. There are some people and companies out there that have terrific services and products at unbeatable prices.
Never judge a book by it’s cover. Read all the details. Make certain you understand everything in a merchant’s terms. If you don’t, ASK QUESTIONS! Any reliable merchant should be able, and willing, to answer them. If you do ask, and don’t hear one single word back, or it takes them an unexplainable amount of time to provide you with the answers you seek, pass that offer over and move on to the next one.
In conclusion, selling products online can be an exciting and profitable business. But you have to be very careful with everything you do. Every transaction you make. Every friendship you strike up. Use your common sense. It will carry you far in your quest for internet riches.

Do you know what an oscillator is? If you are not sure and you need to know, it is probably because you are trying to repair one. While this can be done, understanding the principles behind how an oscillator works is quite necessary. So, how does it work and just what is the oscillator?? We have some help here for you, but to get a full set of information on repairing them as well as learning just how they work, take a few minutes to check out the web for further information. You will even find tutorials that can provide a large amount of information in the way of repairing them.
First, what is the oscillator? It is a device that works based on oscillation. Well, what is that? It is the movement of two things that work based on the energy flow they receive. An oscillating fan, clock or transmitter works by working on the energy. In the example of a clocks pendulum, the oscillator keeps time for us accurately based on the principles of oscillation. This is a simple type of oscillator.
But, they are used in a variety of ways throughout our lives. For example, you will find them located not only in clocks but also in electronic devices of all types. For example, audio frequency equipment has them as well as wireless receivers and transmitters. You will find them in a sensitive amplifier or you will find them in signals that are used and sent out. Their uses are many and far between.
Do you think you do not use an oscillator in your lifetime? If so, think again. They are in most computers, clocks of all sorts, as well as in watches, metal detectors, radios of all powers and uses, as well as many mechanical devices. The oscillator is one of the most important instruments in our life because it helps us to tell time accurately.

All of us talk of team work. Sports thrive on teams. Every business wants to develop winning teams. Every president or prime minister brings his own team. What is there in teams? A team is needed because a lone person can not handle all the work. So one gathers different experts, creates a team, sits back and hopes that the team will bring in great results in a short time. But many times, the team proves to be a dismal failure. Why?
Let us talk of human psychology for a moment. Ego, that is the first to kill the team spirit. Why should I work under him/her? Why should I give in and accept what you say. What I say is correct and all of you are out of your senses! Ego. This is the first danger in a good team. You must have played with jigsaw puzzles. Unless, every piece fits in, you will never get the whole picture.
Whether the piece is small or big, whether it looks good or bad, it has its place in the picture and you must fit that ugly looking small piece to get the picture right. Are you getting it? One of the team members may be the sharpest and smartest person going around, but unless he/she gets support from other members for whom he/she has no respect, the team will not achieve results. Respect for individuals is the most essential part of a good team. Trying to take care of each other’s weaknesses and complementing them with your strengths will bring a balance. Appreciating the smallest achievement and ignoring mistakes will make team happy gathering.
But the first need for a good team is to work towards a common goal. The goal that excites ever member. A goal that everyone wants to achieve. A goal that fires their imagination and a goal that can make them ignore the hardship of work. Goals that will make all of them feel great, when achieved. Goals are the first and the most essential part of a team’s success. If a team is not motivated to achieve a goal, that team will fail.
A very good method is to send few motivational ecards to fire the imagination and make a person, a great team leader and member.

For many, the American dream of owning a business is in queue right behind owning a home. I was a teenager when I owned my first business. Since then I have bought or started many businesses and helped others do the same. Here are some common mistakes I have witnessed or committed myself.
Paying too much
This results from the combination of all other mistakes. Many new business owners set themselves up for failure by paying too much, which results in higher loan payments, lower operating funds, and reduced borrowing capacity.
Letting your emotions rule
If you have always dreamed of owning a business, it is very easy to get caught up in the strong emotions invoked by seeing those dreams coming true. To counteract your emotions, take your time, do your homework, and enlist the help of objective advisors.
Paying for potential
You should only pay for the business as it stands at the date of purchase, not what it could be in the future. You will have to spend time, effort, and money to develop its potential. The seller chose not to invest these things, so he does not deserve to be paid for them.
Not evaluating yourself
Do you have what it takes to run this business? Try to match your strengths to the important duties you will be required to perform. Running a small business requires the owner to do many things. No one can be good at them all, so make provisions for those areas in which you are the weakest. Some tasks like payroll and bookkeeping can easily be contracted to outside vendors. Possibly your spouse, other family member, or a partner could do things that you cannot or do not want to do.
Not building a team of experts
At a bare minimum, you should enlist the aid of an attorney and a CPA. The attorney can prepare and review documents, help structure the deal, and make you aware of legal and liability issues. The CPA can provide a financial analysis of the business, and advise you about tax and accounting matters. You should consider adding a business valuation professional. His valuation report can be used to determine the reasonableness of the asking price, negotiate a lower price, and provide valuable information about the business, the industry, the competition, and the economic conditions.
Relying on bad information
You should verify all important information about the business. Your CPA can check financial information like receivables, payables, and inventory. Your attorney can review loan documents, leases, and contracts. Your business valuation professional can analyze the competition, the industry, and the economic conditions. Use independent appraisers to value real estate and equipment. Get a credit report on the business through your CPA or banker. You can do some of the investigating yourself to save money, but do not cut too many corners it may cost you in the long run.
Changing too much, too fast
Once you own the business, you will be tempted to start making wholesale changes from day one. You risk alienating long-time employees and customers. Unless the business is in bad financial condition and needs immediate action, its better to take some time to get to know the business, your employees, and your customers before making changes. This is a perfect time to solicit suggestions from employees and customers.
Buying a business because you like to do what the business does
One reason restaurants have a high failure rate is people buy or start them because they like to cook. Very few restaurant owners spend time cooking. Their time is spent managing staff, ordering supplies, doing paperwork, and handling daily crises. A small business owner must wear many hats including that of manager.
Not being interested in the businesss product or service
I made the mistake of thinking that because I am a CPA and smart that I could own and operate any business. I bought a business that sold high-performance auto parts to young men who drove jacked-up, four-wheel drive pickup trucks and went to the drag races every weekend. I did not do either and never understood why anyone would. I could not relate to my customers and went out of business in about a year.
Conclusion
Buying a business is a complicated, emotional process. By avoiding these costly mistakes, you can prevent turning your dream into a nightmare.

Everyone knows fish is good for you. Its low in saturated fat, and it makes you smart. So its no wonder consumers are confused by headlines warning fish eaters of impending doom.
In late 2002, a San Francisco Chronicle headline warned that eating fish can be risky because of the high content of mercury in some deep-water fish. A physician in Northern California had discovered that wealthy individuals eating expensive fish, such as swordfish and tuna, were putting themselves at risk for mercury poisoning — even as they were trying to eat healthy.
In one case, a woman suffered hair loss and high levels of mercury in her blood. That spurred Dr. Jane M. Hightower, an expert of internal medicine at San Franciscos California Pacific Medical Center, to fish around for answers.
Hightower studied her own patients, who were affluent and ate plenty of gourmet fish — swordfish, sea bass, halibut and ahi tuna. She found that patients who often ate these fish or were experiencing symptoms of mercury exposure (fatigue, headache, joint pain, and reduced memory and concentration) had unacceptable levels of mercury in their blood.
Hightower retested these patients after they abstained from the suspect fish for six months. The high levels of mercury disappeared. Not surprising, the FDA has issued warnings about high levels of mercury for some of these fish.
Fish remains tasty and healthy
Fish is naturally low in cholesterol and has been the protein of choice for cardiologists and weight-conscious Americans. It is a fantastic source of omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to lower the risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol and decreasing the stickiness of blood platelets. This means omega-3 fats can lower the risk for stroke.
Studies have shown conclusively that men and women who eat a diet rich in fatty fish — salmon, mackerel, sardines, anchovies and tuna — are less likely to suffer heart disease and stroke. One study published in the journal Circulation (American Heart Association) showed that eating fish regularly reduced the risk of heart disease in diabetic women as much as 64 percent. Researchers at Chicago’s Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center found that older people who eat fish at least once a week may cut their risk of Alzheimer’s disease by more than half.
It’s not necessary to eat fish every day to reap the benefits. According to a study in The Journal of the American Medical Association, men who ate about three to five ounces of fish one to three times a month were 43 percent less likely to have a stroke during 12 years of follow-up. Men who ate fish more often did not reduce their risk any further.

Top 10 Tips For Writing A Good Press Release
Writing a press release doesn’t need to be difficult. Here are 10 tips for writing a successful press release.
1 – You are writing for journalists
Press releases aren’t for customers or consumers they are for reporters, journalists who will use them as a starting point for a larger story or feature. Write your story as you would like to have it told. Press releases written as sales pieces will be completely ignored. The points you make in your press release and the order in which you make them may direct the journalist in how to develop the story.
2 – Start with a strong “lead”
The first paragraph of the press release is known as the “lead”. The lead needs to be strong, communicating your message quickly and concisely. You need to use your headline and first paragraph effectively so that they standalone and that if only those portions were to be read, there would be enough information to understand what the release is about. The rest of your press release should provide the detail. Journalists see maybe thousands of press releases a day, you have a few seconds to grab your their attention.
3 – What is your angle?
The media are always on the look out for a good story. Your press release needs to be more than just. fact, it needs to be newsworthy. Understanding why journalists would find your story interesting is the key to success. Think about the release from the journalist’s point of view, put yourself in their shoes. It is best to make your press release timely and to tie it to current events or social issues if possible. Find a good angle, a good news hook and you have the start of a good press release.
4 – Who, what, where, when and why
A good press release needs to answer all of the “W” questions (who, what, where, when and why), providing the journalist with useful information about your organization, product, service or event. If your press release reads like an advertisement or sales pitch, dump it.
5 – Why should anyone care?
Company launches, new websites and changes of management happen all the time and so aren’t interesting. You need to concentrate on what makes your new company, web site, CEO or product unique. Ask yourself the question, “Why should anyone care?” Concentrate on the aspects of your press release that makes it different.
6 – Add the human touch
Always use real life stories about how your organization identified a problem and solved it. How did your service or product fulfil a need or help the community. Real life examples communicate the benefits of using your product or service in a powerful way.
7 – Keep to the point
Use enough words to tell your story, no more and no less. Don’t pad your release with unnecessary adjectives or flowery language. But at the same time make each word count.
8 – Limit the jargon
The best way to communicate your news is to speak plainly. You may need to use some jargon or industry specific lingo, but limit it to the minimum. Industry specific terms are only understood by people in the same industry where as your press release is aimed at a general readership.
9 – Add an “About” section
Make sure you add an “About” section where you describe your company and services. This will be useful for setting the press release in a context. Don’t forget to add the URL of your website.
10 – Add good contact information
If a journalist picks up on your press release they will want to talk with you. Just adding your website URL isn’t enough. As a minimum you need to add a contact name and an email address. Even better add a phone number where you can be contacted.
Easy Ways To Secure Your Computer
Just follow these simple tips; your computer will be free from virus and spyware.
1. Stop and think before opening any attachment you receive.
If you don’t know the sender, don’t open the attachment – just delete it. It doesn’t matter if the subject promises you’ll see Britney Spears dancing nude on the kitchen table, just delete it.
Most of the devastating worms and viruses of recent times were distributed via email. These viruses feed on the curiosity and also the ignorance of a huge number of email users. People will get an email from fakename@weirdsuspiciousdomain and they’ll just open whatever file is attached to it.
If the email is from someone you know, always scan any attachments first before downloading or opening them.
If every email user in the world followed these simple guidelines the distribution of viruses via email will grind to a halt.
2. Protect yourself
Good protection on the Internet.these days consists of 3 components: anti-virus software, anti-spyware software and a firewall.
Anti-Virus Software:
Good virus protection doesn’t need to cost you a fortune. You can get excellent free anti-virus software on the Internet. Even the professional version of their software is very affordable.
Anti-Spyware Software:
For spyware protection, you can get it for free on the Internet as well.
A Firewall:
As for a firewall, Windows XP ships with a decent enough firewall. Just make sure it is always enabled. Alternatively you can visit a site like http://www.download.com and search for Zone Alarm, which has an excellent free version.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that you need to keep your anti-virus software up to date. It is recommended that you update your anti-virus and anti-spyware software at least once a week. An anti-virus program that uses definitions that are months old is just about useless.
3. Watch out what you download
Spyware is embedded in a lot of software on the Internet – especially those related to ripping, converting and playing music and videos. That free MP3 player or DVD Ripper you just downloaded may have installed a bunch of harmful spyware without you even knowing about it.
4. Keep yourself informed
Major anti-virus software developers like Symantec and Grisoft updates their sites regularly with the latest virus alerts. Visit these sites frequently to keep yourself aware of what threats are doing the rounds and how to avoid them.
Using these simple and software I have kept my computer virus-free for the past 3 years. It’s not rocket science. Just stay alert, use some common sense and you too can stay bug free while still enjoying your Internet experience.
5. Stay clear of pornographic and illegal software sites
If you want to pick up viruses and spyware quickly, visit some pornographic web sites. One wrong click on a subtle little pop-up or security warning window (which you’ll run into often on these type of sites) and you’ll have infested yourself with trojan horses, spyware, dialers and other unfavorable software that could leave your computer wide open to further attacks.
Follow all these useful tips and your computer will be kept secure and virus free.

You can tell your prospects that as they register online, they will be asked to supply their specific questions which will be addressed during the program. To overcome other prospects’ hesitations you can also add the “Common questions that will be answered” to your marketing materials as well.
By helping to customize your event to prospects’ needs, you will show a willingness to help them learn, more so than a desire to take their money and run.
Cutting edge
You will attract more people to register for your event if they feel they will get the latest and greatest information from you. To give your prospects that feeling, use up-to-date terminology such as “cutting edge”, “new”, “advanced”, “latest” and “just-released research” in your copy to draw in your audience. Be sure to speak to them using action-oriented sentences such as “Attending this program will.” or “Learn how to.” or “Be the first to see updated techniques on”
The first step is showing your audience you understand their challenges and the second step is showing them you know how to help them with those challenges, or at least have content that can.

The Jets earned an AFC Wild Card spot in the playoffs, the number 5 seed and surprised most who predicted a less then stellar year. The Jets, however, did lose to the Patriots in the playoffs. No one saw head coach Eric Mangini’s first season going as well as it did, but this year the team is hoping it can make another run into the playoffs, especially since they only lost one starter. But the Jets face a tougher path through the regular season with a difficult schedule. In the 2007 schedule the faces the Jets they will find a whopping seven games against teams that made the playoffs in 2006, thanks mostly to them drawing the NFC East which fielded three playoff teams last season.

With all the talks of obesity and Americas race for thin bodies, cholesterol has suffered a beating. It is even one of the main figures in the development of hypertension, that contribute much to coronary heart disease. Often seen as the culprit in fattening America, cholesterol has become a food taboo, something that must be avoided at all costs.
What people do not know though is that there are two kinds of cholesterol and one kind is actually beneficial to the body. In fact, it is one of the essential substances that our bodies need to maintain balance.
What is cholesterol?
Cholesterol is a substance that can be found in fats or in lipids. Lipids are important because it is used to form cell membrane, used to balance hormones and help in other bodily functions. Too much cholesterol though tends to clog the bloodstream, eventually leading to heart disease. And because cholesterol cannot easily dissolved, only transported, the risk of build-up is great. As mentioned earlier, there two kinds of cholesterol, the LDL and the HDL cholesterol.
The bad cholesterol
The LDL cholesterol is frequently referred to as the “bad cholesterol” because too much of these can accumulate in the walls of the arteries and clog the blood stream that leads to the heart and the brain. This build up, called atherosclerosis, which can eventually lead to a heart attack or a stroke (brain attack) depending on where the arteries are leading to.
High LDL increases the risk for heart disease so it important that it is kept at normal range, which is below 100 mg/dL.
The good cholesterol
The HDL cholesterol on the other hand is referred to as the good cholesterol as high levels seem to protect a person from heart disease and hear attacks. According to some experts, instead of staying at the arteries like the LDL, HDL leaves the arteries and instead goes to the liver. In contrast with LDL levels, a low HDL increases the risk for heart attack. Levels of HDL should not be below 40 mg/dL for men and 50 mg/dL for women. Regular exercise has been found to increase the levels of HDL.
Foods that come from animals contain cholesterol levels. Just how much depends on the kind of animal food. vegetables however do not contain any cholesterol.
In addition to the cholesterol that we get from food, the body is also capable of producing its own cholesterol. This creates a problem in overproduction since we also take in cholesterol through the foods that we eat. Average individuals or those who do not have any heart problems should only take in about 300 milligrams.
For people who are already at risk for coronary heart disease and heart attack, physicians recommend the reduction in the intake of cholesterol. They should only take in less than 200 milligrams. Everyone is also advised to keep their consumption of saturated fats to a minimum, as these can significantly help in lowering the risk for heart disease.
People, who have severe high blood pressure, are however advised to take in no more than six ounces of lean meat and fish daily. They should also choose the products thatv they buy and ensure that they are fat free or low-fat.

Many people are familiar with kickboxing, thanks to popular films like Ring of Fire, but not many have heard of muay thai, from which many of the rules and moves of kickboxing originated. Muay thai (pronounced mooay tie) is the national sport of Thailand, and is widely known throughout Southeast Asia. Muay thai was one of the first of the Southeast Asian martial arts to be exported to the West, and many of the earliest well-known martial artists based their own fighting techniques on muay thai. Bruce Lee, for instance, analyzed muay thai moves in the early 1960s. In Cambodia it is known as pradal seray, in Malaysia it is called tomoi and in Myanmar it is called lethwei. No matter where it is practiced, though, its essentially the same sport a martial art that uses the hands, feet, elbows and knees as points of contact and weapons.
Muay thai has been practiced in Thailand and other southeastern countries for centuries. It gradually evolved from bouts between different units in the army to timed bouts with rules taking place in arenas around the country. It originated in the battlefield techniques of the Siamese army who found themselves fighting in the rough, close terrain of Thailand and Burma. They developed a style of fighting that used combinations of fast, furious punches, kicks, elbow and knee strikes to make the best use of every part of the body. In the late 1500s, King Naresuan the Great officially made muay thai training part of all military training.
Muay thai is intertwined with the history of Thailand in many ways. One of the most popular tales is that of Nai Khanom Tom and the ten Burmese warriors. In 1767, the Thai capital fell to Burmese warriors. The Burmese king was curious to see how the field techniques of his own soldiers measured up to those of the muay thai boxers. Nai Khanom Tom was chosen to go head to head with a Burmese solder, whom he easily defeated. The king was so impressed with this technique that he made an offer to the warrior. If he could defeat ten Burmese warriors one after another, Nai Khanom Tom would have his freedom and two wives. The Thai warrior was victorious, and returned home a hero.
Muay thai is a national pastime the most passionately followed spectator sport in Thailand and much of Southeast Asia. Its popularity has spread throughout the world, and in 1995, the World Muay Thai Council was established by cabinet resolution to promote the ideals, techniques and all other elements of muay thai.
Muay Thai Matches, Rules and Equipment
Muay thai is fought in five three-minute rounds separated by two minute breaks. The fight is presided over by a referee, and scoring is determined by three judges who are trained observers. Each of the judges awards points to fighters based on their performance, and the fighter with the most points is awarded the round. At the end of the fight, the fighter with the most rounds is declared the winner of the fight.
Theres more to a muay thai match than the fighting, though. Each fight is accompanied by a band playing next to the boxers ring. The band consists of horn, drums and cymbals, and begins playing with the opening dance. As the action in the fight quickens, the tempo of the music accelerates to keep up, bringing the audiences collective pulses along for the ride.
An important part of each match is the preliminary dance of thanks and respect offered by each opponent, called the wai khru. The styles of those dances are very individual and often serve to announce which school and instructor taught the fighter his technique.
In the early years, the only protection worn by a muay thai fighter was makeshift gloves string wrapped around the knuckles and fist. Today all boxers are required to wear full safety equipment when competing to lessen the chance of injuries. Muay thai matches are held all over the world, and there is a formal ranking system to recognize the best and most accomplished muay thai fighters in the world.

Continuing Education (CE) is vital for the further development of a nursing career, but you shouldnt choose just any courses to add to your credentials. Each CE program that you choose should enhance your knowledge, make you a more valuable employee and further you on your career path. Evaluating your nursing continuing education opportunities for each of the following criteria can help you choose just the right courses to keep you on the right career and professional path.
Is the Course Relevant to my Job?
Choose courses that enhance your ability to do your job. If your current position is in the school nursing environment, a continuing education course about the latest advances in ER technology isnt likely to have much relevance to your job. On the other hand, some courses that seem to be irrelevant on the surface may have subtle connections that arent obvious at first glance. Is some of your school nursing time spent in a full-service on campus clinic? In that case, that emergency room CE course may just offer something of value.
Does it Enhance my Career Opportunities?
Even if youre content in your position and have no plans to seek advancement, you should evaluate how a chosen continuing education course fits into your plans. The world of medicine changes every day, and so do expectations of nursing professionals. Keep your eye on advances in your chosen segment of the nursing field to be sure that the courses you choose keep you qualified for the jobs to which you aspire.
Is the Course Accredited?
If your main goal in taking nursing continuing education courses is to garner CE hours toward recertification or licensure, then accreditation is vital. Check to be sure that the courses you choose are accredited by The American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Is it Offered by Respected Professionals in the Field?
Do you recognize the names of the instructors, or of the institution offering the course youre planning to take? Popularity isnt always a measure of quality, but it is one way of checking the credentials of instructors and institutions. If youre not familiar with either the instructors or the offering institutions, ask around. Nurses forums on the Internet are great places to find out about programs that you might be considering and youll hear directly from professionals just like you whether or not the course material was helpful and suitable for your continuing education.
Is the Learning Style Accessible for You?
One often overlooked facet of evaluating a nursing course is personal learning style. No one knows better than you do whether you learn best with hands-on instruction, or can absorb more information if left to explore and gather it on your own. Choose classes that are conducted in your best learning style to get the most out of your continuing education hours.
Continuing education courses for nursing represent a substantial investment of your time and money. Take the time to evaluate each course that you plan to take to make sure that it meets all your expectations and needs.

ALCOA (AA), this is the bell weather sign that earnings are upon us again. AA is the first major component of the DOW to report and it is the unofficial signal that the earnings cycle has started. The fact is that earnings never stop and while the numbers may dwindle to a trickle at times there are companies reporting constantly. But now we will see a swell of daily reporting that builds to as many as 3-400 per day over the next two weeks and then it will peak and drop off again sharply. Not all exciting companies report during this time. The brokers shook the up the markets in mid September and RIMM has often rocked the trading world like it did last Monday but in general, most of the companies you know will report over the next three weeks.

You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this. –Henry David Thoreau (1817-62) American writer, author, naturalist
How do you actually spend your days? Are you focused and committed to everything you do? If you are, thats wonderful! But if thats not you, does this ring a bell? Are you spending a lot of your day thinking about what has happened to you up to this moment? Or are you waiting for something to happen, for the right opportunity to come along, to get some more time, make some more money, meet the right person? Are you dreaming of what might happen next week, next month, next year? STOP!
Each day you are given is a gift. It is time to value every moment. We all have 24 hours a day. No more. No less. The clock is ticking and there will be no second chance. You cannot get time back once it has gone. What do you choose to do with your 24 hours? Are you letting life just happen? Decide to take control. Stop rushing. Savour every moment as it happens. Take note of everything around you. Be in the moment as it happens. Listen to the sounds, observe other people, see the buds on the trees and shrubs, the spring flowers peeping out through the snow. Dont miss what is happening now in your world.
Act as though this day was your last. What message would you like to leave? Treat everyone you meet with care, kindness and understanding. Communicate clearly. Make every encounter with another person important. Give them respect, admiration and courtesy and you will attract the same. Do what you are doing to the best of your ability. Make only commitments you can deliver. Trust yourself to say and do the right thing. Choose to be excellent in all that you do. Be more, do more, demand and expect more from yourself. Focus on what needs to be done now, on results. Prioritize your time dont waste it. See every challenge or problem is a chance to grow.
Live your life on purpose, not by accident. The past its over with and should be nothing but a fading memory. The future it simply hasnt happened yet and things you do today, now, are likely to have an impact on that future. Dont compare your present situation to anything else accept it for what it is and make the most of it or decide to take action now if it is not the present you want. Acknowledge that nothing will improve unless you do something about it. Be happy. Dont wait for events or other people to make you happy. Have some fun! Start enjoying your life now, today. Start doing things you enjoy or try something different. Keep your sense of humour, your sense of fun. Think This is my day of opportunity! every day! Seize and enjoy every moment. Every morning is a fresh beginning. What are you waiting for?
